Université de Namur

Enrolling at UNamur from abroad.

A human-scale university in central Wallonia, UNamur has already published its 2026-2027 amounts for non-EU students. Here is the complete journey of a non-EU applicant for 2026-2027.

Enrolling at UNamur from abroad (non-EU)

In short

For 2026-2027, a non-assimilated non-EU student enrolling at UNamur pays the ordinary tuition fee of 1 194 € and an additional contribution of 4 175 €, that is, 5 369 € for the year. The bachelor admission application closes on 31 March 2026 for a non-resident applicant, with a 200 € deposit deducted from the fees in case of enrolment.

How much does enrolment at UNamur cost for a non-EU student?

The cost is made up of the ordinary tuition fee and an additional contribution reserved for non-assimilated non-EU nationals. UNamur has published its 2026-2027 amounts: an ordinary tuition fee of 1 194 € and an additional fee of 4 175 €, that is, 5 369 € in total. This contribution is a single flat amount, identical whatever the programme.

ItemAmount 2026-2027
Ordinary tuition fee (full rate)1 194 €
Additional contribution for non-assimilated non-EU students4 175 €
Annual total5 369 €
Application fee (deposit deducted from tuition if enrolment)200 €

The 4 175 € contribution stems from the Wallonia-Brussels Federation program decree of 17 December 2025. The ordinary tuition fee of 1 194 € results from a reform voted in June 2026: UNamur already displays it for 2026-2027. We recalculate your exact cost at the time of the file.

Who is exempt from the 4 175 € contribution?

Only non-assimilated non-EU students pay the contribution. An assimilated student pays like a resident. Added to this is the exemption linked to nationality: nationals of the countries listed in the annexes of the ARES circular (least developed countries, low human development index, additional list) only pay the ordinary tuition fee of 1 194 €, without the contribution. Senegal, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire and Lebanon are among them; Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria do not appear there and remain liable for the contribution, unless they qualify for individual assimilation.

Being exempt from the contribution does not mean paying nothing: the student concerned pays the ordinary tuition fee, like a Belgian resident.

Admission timeline and access conditions

For a non-resident non-EU applicant needing a visa, the bachelor admission application closes on 31 March 2026. The equivalence of the secondary diploma is requested in parallel. UNamur moreover expects an average of around 13/20 in the secondary school leaving diploma (14/20 for the faculty of economic, social and management sciences and for computer science).

  1. 1Request the equivalence of the secondary school leaving diploma from the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.
  2. 2Build the admission application online with all the documents.
  3. 3Pay the 200 € deposit upon submission of the application.
  4. 4Receive the decision, then start the visa application and finalise the enrolment.

The 200 € deposit is deducted from the registration fees if the application is accepted and the enrolment finalised; it is not refunded if the application is refused.

What level of French does UNamur require?

For a programme in French, UNamur requires a B2 level at minimum, attested by a TCF at B2 level, a DELF B2 or a DALF (C1 or C2). A pathway already followed in French may open an exemption.

Medicine, physiotherapy, speech therapy: the capped programmes

Medicine goes through the entrance examination common to the French Community, held on 27 August 2026, with a quota of 15 % of non-resident successful candidates. Physiotherapy and rehabilitation and speech therapy are capped programmes, decided by a draw under bailiff supervision in case the places are exceeded. Applications to the draw-based programmes go through the Mesetudes platform, over a short window.
